Sacraments

Holy signs for the journey of faith.

Besides Baptism and the Eucharist, the Church recognizes other spiritual markers in the journey of faith.

Baptism and Holy Communion

Baptism and the Eucharist are the two great sacraments of the Gospel. Through Baptism we are joined to Christ and to the Church; in Holy Communion we are fed and renewed at Christ's table.

St. Luke's celebrates Holy Eucharist every Sunday and during the week in the Chapel. Guidelines for baptisms are available with the parish's sacramental resources.

Sacramental Rites

These rites mark conversion, healing, vocation, covenant, pastoral care, and reconciliation throughout the Christian life.

Confirmation

Confirmation is the adult affirmation of baptismal vows. Contact the rector for more information about preparation and upcoming opportunities.

Reconciliation / Confession

Private confession is available as a sacramental rite of reconciliation. St. Luke's provides preparation resources for those who would like to learn more or prepare for confession.

Matrimony / Christian Marriage

Christian marriage is a sacramental rite in the Church. Wedding guidelines are available with the parish's other sacramental and pastoral care resources.

Holy Orders

Holy Orders is ordination to the ministry of deacon, priest, or bishop in the Church.

Unction

Unction is anointing with oil for those who are sick, dying, or desiring strength for daily struggles. St. Luke's offers Holy Eucharist with unction Wednesdays at 5:30pm in the Chapel.

Pastoral Rites

The Church also offers liturgical rites for pastoral moments including loss of an unborn child, house blessings, and funerals.

Resources and Forms

These resources include sacramental guidelines, reconciliation preparation, a confession FAQ, and a medical updates form that may be kept on file with the church office and long-term care providers.
